About Dr Ashley

Dr. AshleyI was born in the birthplace of Chiropractic, Palmer Chiropractic; Davenport, Iowa. As a child I focused on sports,  gymnastics and competition dance. Early in my childhood I hit my head on the balance beam during training and was diagnosed with a concussion. For years following my injury I went through bouts of debilitating migraine headaches. As time went on the migraines lessened until they became rare.

While in college studying education and pre law I was hit almost head on by a young driver. I had a personal injury but was diagnosed with no serious injuries, however over the next couple weeks my headaches became severe again. This made working as an insurance agent, going to school full time, and raising my 1 year old daughter very difficult. I endured a year of medical treatment which included multiple medications, neurological testing, and pain shots. At the end of the first year, I was worse than ever with a never ending pain prescription. Depression began to hit hard and I was becoming more desperate for a solution or even relief from my daily pain and numbness. A co-worker recommended that I see a female chiropractor at Palmer Chiropractic and I took the opportunity seriously.

At my first appointment the staff doctor told me that I was going to be a chiropractor. Knowing nothing about chiropractic, I was glad to be there, simply out of hope. Within one month of  aggressive care I was able to go off all medications including weekly pain shots. When I woke up I was no longer in so much pain that I was nauseas or numb throughout the day due to the pain medications. These effects were also causing my hope to increase and my depression to fade. My energy drastically increased and my focus & concentration followed. My very first staff doctor was present at my graduation from Palmer Chiropractic in February 2007.

Upon graduation I had 2 young children. My daughter was born before I attended chiropractic schoolAshley Family Pic and my son was born half way through the program. Because of my ignorance of natural healthcare and lack of apregnancy chiropractor, my daughters pregnancy and her labor were both very difficult. She had a very traumatic birth at term following a full surgery when I was 7 1/2 months pregnant. She was in the NICU for a week and experienced baby colic for the first 6 months of her life. The pregnancy and labor of my son were very different. Through my pregnancy I had consistent prenatal chiropractic care with my pregnancy chiropractor utilizing websters technique which changes the babies position when the baby is breech and I never suffered from sciatica, which I had terribly with my daughters pregnancy. I also had little to no heart burn, headaches, or breathing problems. The labor of my son was much faster, easier, and less painful because of my pregnancy chiropractor. My midwife helped me to deliver him on my hands and knees, which was much more comfortable and natural for me than lying on my back and working against gravity. My beautiful son was optimally healthy despite a slight neck misalignment due to the umbilical cord being tight around his neck during delivery. Immediately after he was born I adjusted him using gentle pediatric chiropractic techniques and he relaxed completely. He never had baby colic, an ear infection, sleeping problems, infant acid reflux, fussiness, etc. I discovered that one of the greatest gifts you can give your kids is the gift of health!

After graduating from Palmer Chiropractic in February 2007, I became an associate doctor at Tucker Chiropractic, an all activator practice in Tucker Georgia. there I had the opportunity to treat a large amount of patients with chronic issues such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, migraine headaches, etc.

I opened my first practice in my home town, Moline, Illinois in 2008.  An amazing opportunity for the growth of our practice was made available here in Arizona in 2009 and we jumped on board. Ashley Chiropractic has grown rapidly in the birthing community. Our focus on pregnancy, women, and children and our successes have been innumberable. The responses of our patients have caused many midwives, OB/GYN’s, and other birth professionals to refer pregnant women, babies, and children to us for specific care including websters technique when the baby is breech or in a less than optimal position for birth and activator methods along with many others.
